Who We Are -

The Southern Colorado Derby(TM) is a fun and competitive part of Pueblo’s history. The first Derby was held in 1937 and continued on and off through the years. In 2006, the Southern Colorado Derby, Inc.(TM) resurrected the derby and has been rolling through Pueblo's East Side ever since. The Joplin Hill Run (TM) runs with the mission of promoting and preserving this part of Pueblo’s History. Due to the restictions in place by Governor Polis, for social distancing and large gatherings (due to the COVID 19 Virus) this years race will not be held. Stay tuned for information on the 2021 Race.

The mission of the Southern Colorado Derby (TM):

1) to promote and preserve Soap Box Derby racing in Colorado;
2) to promote close family relationships while building and racing in a competitive derby.

Racing in Pueblo since 1937
Southern Colorado Soap Box Derby announces the 2021 Joplin Hill Run is in the planning stage. More excitement, more fun. Open to Boys and Girls between the ages of 7 and 21. (Some restrictions may apply)

The Southern Colorado Soap Box Derby teaches youth the basic skills of workmanship and perseverance to continue a project once started.
